Go Explore
​Go Explore is the perfect day out for younger families (primary school aged children). We will head away from the crowds and explore somewhere new. The kids can take the lead as we break new ground and see what the natural world has to offer us. There are full day and half day options to suit all families and a choice of several different locations.
What we do will really depend on what you want to get out of the day.
Most days will include a mix from the following activities:

Learning to light and build a fire

Toasting marshmallows

Making a hot drink

Building fairy dens

Stream scrambling

Woodland games

Nature bingo

Making face paint
-
Exploring an area on foot and mainly off the beaten paths
The days are unique to you and your family, so these are just suggestions to give you some inspiration. We can agree the detail of your personal day when you book.
The overall distance walked in the day will depend very much on what we end up doing and the capabilities of your children, but, as a rough guide, expect 3-5km for a half day and 4-7km for a full day.
Location
​We have a number of great locations in the Lochaber area to choose from. Your preferences can be discussed when booking.
Kit:
We will provide: a fire bowl, fire strikes, seat pads, cups, marshmallows and midge nets.
You will need to provide: wellies/walking boots/trainers that can get wet and muddy, waterproofs (jacket and trousers), warm clothes, snacks, packed lunch for full days, dry/clean clothes to change into when we get back, a thirst for adventure!
Timings:
A full day starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm
Half days either run from 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm
Ages:
​This adventure is aimed at primary school age children, but all ages are welcome. If you are bringing a child who cannot walk the full distance, you will need to carry the child in an appropriate child carrier that allows the adult to be hands-free.
